"Every now and then, the universe sends you an individual that fundamentally changes the trajectory of your life for the better. Becky, or in my case Mrs. Nguyen, was that individual when I was in high school. Coming from a foreign country, with minimal knowledge of the American culture and ways to navigate it, Mrs. Nguyen instilled discipline, accountability, and confidence to succeed in life. More than a decade later, those values still hold true with everything I do. She always echoed these famous words at the end of every class...”make good choices”. It’s amazing how those three simple words have affected me to this day, that’s because the person echoing these words is a hero of mine, and throughout her entire career, shaping young lives, she always made good choices."

"Well, let me start by saying thank you to this wonderful woman I called Mrs. Nguyen. She’s one of the most influential people that I had the luck to have met throughout my high school career. What started as just another class, grew into a bond that I hold dear to this day. We left her class every day knowing that when she yelled her famous phrase “Make Good Choices,” it was more than just words to her, she genuinely cared about us and our futures. I joined the Model United Nations, a program she ran, because I couldn’t get enough of her high wholesome energy and support. Something we received little from the Bronx school system. I also went on to join many other programs, that I probably wouldn’t have, if she weren’t there to show me my true potential. I genuinely believe that any person that comes across her would be lucky to have Mrs. Nguyen by their side helping guide them into their future."
Lana (parent)
"Our daughter was diagnosed with an intellectual disability at the age of 6. Our school system had provided the formal diagnosis but this was unknown territory for us and we didn't know how to navigate through the process. We didn't know what questions to ask or what to expect. Becky was instrumental in helping us understand the academic implications, better manage our expectations and be the advocate our child needed. We've all heard that it takes a village to raise a child - and we are so thankful that Becky is in ours. Her background in special education coupled with her passion for ensuring that children receive the level of support they deserve make her the perfect fit for any family trying to advocate for their child."
